Sage Extract Sweating
Sweat mainly consists of water and is discharged from sweat glands that are present all over
the body. However, the amount people sweat varies from person to person and is mainly dependent on the number of
sweat glands present. On an average, about 4 million sweat glands are present all over the body.
However, a number of people suffer from excessive sweating. This condition is called hyperhidrosis and leads to
uncontrollable sweating. It either affects certain body parts but can also affect the entire body. A large number
of treatments are available for the purpose of curbing hyperhidrosis. These include botox injections,
antiperspirants, oral medication or drugs and iontophoresis. Natural remedies are available as well.
Using sage extracts is a natural remedy and must be used before trying out the above mentioned cures. It is known
to bring about a reduction in excess sweating by about 50%.
However, it is important to remember that as hyperhidrosis does not develop overnight, it cannot be cured
overnight either. Therefore it is important to remain patient while consuming sage extracts.
Different methods of using sage:
1.Sage is a herb that can be eaten. This will not prove to be a problem as it tastes good and one can consume it
by sprinkling it over soups, rice casseroles, pastas, etc. A number of recipes are available on the internet which
tell you how to eat sage.
2.Drinking sage is the most common method of consuming it. It can be consumed in the form of a tea and
the following ingredients will be required:
-
dried sage
-
water
-
lemon
-
honey
The water must be boiled after which the sage must be put in it. It must be allowed to sit for about 5 minutes.
(It is essential to keep to this time limit as excessive boiling may lead to a loss of benefits. It can also prove
to be dangerous) It should then be strained and poured into a cup. Both lemon and honey must only be added if one
wishes to sweeten the tea a bit. This tea must be consumed only after it has been allowed to cool for a few
minutes. ½ of the cup must be consumed with breakfast and the other half must be consumed before sleeping.
3-Sage extracts can also be applied onto the skin. The sage tea that has been allowed to cool can be applied
onto the target areas. A sponge or a cotton cloth may be used for the purpose of dipping it into the tea and then
for application. It must be applied generously for best results. It must be allowed to remain on the skin till it
dries after which the procedure must be carried out again. After the application has been done twice, the target
area must then be washed with water.
Sage extracts and other herbs that are used for the same purpose may have the same effect as
drugs and oral medication but they differ in certain ways. If one decides to turn towards oral medication or drugs,
one will notice that there is a reduction in sweating almost instantly. However, sage extracts and other herbs do
not work as fast and can take time. The results can only be seen after a number of weeks if consumption or
application has been consistent without fail.
It is important to remember to not give up if you do not notice results. Benefits of sage have been proven over
the years and even though it may take some time, it can reduce excessive sweating and help you get rid of this
embarrassing problem once and for all.
